Juvenile Court Book Club Inc provides an innovative literacy program for incarcerated youth in San Diego County. JCBC conducts monthly book club sessions with over 150 incarcerated teens in several juvenile detention facilities. JCBC also provides books for independent reading, one-on-one tutors, a writing program and college scholarship awards.

JCBC works in collaboration with the Probation Deparment and the San Diego Office of Education to provide improved literacy, academic acheivement and reduced recidivism. For many of the youth we serve, our volunteers are the only visitors they have while in custody.

This is an all volunteer group led by professionals including current and retired attorneys and judges, educators, businesspeople and community volunteers. JCBC has provided its services for the past 18 years. Your donations buy books and materials for the youth we serve.
