The Junior League of Monterey County (JLMC) has been a transformative force in my life, shaping who I am as a leader and how I approach service, community engagement, and personal growth. Joining this dynamic organization ignited a passion for empowering others and provided me with tools and opportunities to step into meaningful leadership roles.

Leadership Growth
As the President of JLMC, I’ve led a group of remarkable, driven women committed to making a difference in our community. This role has taught me the value of collaborative leadership, the importance of listening to diverse perspectives, and how to inspire and mobilize a team around a shared vision. Organizing events like Leadership Day and curating women-focused educational components for our general membership meetings has allowed me to hone my planning, delegation, and public speaking skills.

Confidence and Empowerment
When I first joined JLMC, I saw myself as someone who cared deeply about service but hadn’t fully realized my potential to lead others. Through the mentorship, training, and support within the League, I’ve grown into someone who leads confidently and helps others recognize their potential. Programs like the Mini MBA collaboration with Miami University further expanded my leadership toolkit, enabling me to bring innovative ideas back to JLMC and my broader professional roles.

Community Impact
JLMC has reinforced my belief in the power of civic engagement and collective action. Through our initiatives, I’ve seen firsthand how organized, passionate women can address pressing community needs and create lasting change. This has deepened my understanding of what leadership truly means—it’s not about being at the top but about lifting others and building a stronger, more inclusive community.

Transformative Relationships
Beyond the skills and opportunities, JLMC has been a place where I’ve built lifelong friendships and mentorships. These relationships have been a source of strength and inspiration, reminding me of the value of surrounding yourself with people who challenge and support you equally.

The transformation I’ve experienced through JLMC is not just about personal growth; it’s about becoming a catalyst for change. JLMC has equipped me to approach leadership with purpose, resilience, and a focus on empowering others—qualities that ripple beyond our League to impact the community we serve. I am eternally grateful for this journey and proud to carry forward the legacy of this incredible organization.

I joined Junior League to make new friends and make a difference in my community. This organization fills both of those roles and it provides leadership training and opportunities that cross over to other areas of my personal and professional life

I wholeheartedly recommend the Junior League of Monterey County! This organization has been a driving force for positive change in our community for over 60 years. They foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where women of all backgrounds come together to make a difference.

When I first moved to Monterey County, I knew barely anyone. I was searching for a way to connect with my new community, and I found it in the Junior League. Through volunteering, I not only found a sense of purpose but also formed deep friendships and a true sense of belonging.

I've been inspired by the dedication and passion of the women in the Junior League of Monterey County. They are a powerful example of how women can come together to create positive change. I encourage everyone to consider joining and supporting this wonderful organization.

This is a great group of smart women who care about their community. I love that members range in age and background, there is so much that we can learn from each other. The volunteer events are wonderful and always focus on women and children's issues in Monterey County.
