Causes: Women, Womens Service Clubs

Mission: To promote voluntarism, develop the potential of women and improve the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteeers.

Programs: Old whaling station - the league maintains and docents for the old whaling station, an historical building owned by the state of california.

training and education - one of the exempt purposes of the league is to train members to become active and effective volunteers and leaders in the community - approximately 150 members benefitted.

community projects - various projects including distribution of scholarships, harvesting crops, giving christmas gifts to families in need, teaching foster children life skills, and other projects

Being a part of The Junior League of Monterey County Inc. is the best way to get the training one needs to be a leader in their community. The opportunities in trainings, philanthropic programs and friendships are endless. It is empowering and inspiring to work with such wonderful and driven women. Joining the League is the best way to enrich your life and others!

This is a great group of smart women who care about their community. I love that members range in age and background, there is so much that we can learn from each other. The volunteer events are wonderful and always focus on women and children's issues in Monterey County.
