Causes: Women, Womens Service Clubs
Mission: The junior league of cincinnati is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Our purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. Our focus area is on strengthening childhood environments.
Programs: Improving communities: the jlc directly impacts our community through our projects and voluntarism. The mission of refugeeconnect, a jlc project, is to improve the lives of refugees in greater cincinnati by constructing a long term sustainable support system. The grinup pediatric oral health project serves the community by developing and implementing a public advocacy campaign to drive awareness, educate the community and champion accessible oral health care for children ages 0-18 in greater cincinnati. Through song and dance, choral group provides entertainment to senior citizens in local assisted living, senior centers, and nursing homes.
developing the potential of women: the jlc develops members as community leaders, through the provision of training, hands on instruction and experience. In addition to training its own membership, the jlc opens many of its training and development opportunities to the community, through public forums and collaboration.
columbia center: the columbia center serves as the headquarters of the junior league of cincinnati, enabling the meeting, planning, and execution of its training and development, advocacy, and community impact efforts, including the incubation of its signature projects, refugeeconnect, pediatric oral health and the choral group. Additionally, the 10,000 square foot columbia center functions as a community resource, by providing support to other non-profits organizations in the community, by providing much needed accessible meeting space.
