Mission: Empower families undergoing childhood cancer diagnosis
Programs: Funeral assistance - family support program where we offer financial assistance towards the cost of the funeral and/or burial services for the child who has passed due to childhood cancer. A total of 23 families received funeral assistance during the 2014 year.
financial assistance - economic family support program where direct financial assistance is provided to families who have a child battling childhood cancer. Families receive monetary assistance to assist in the payment of bills, the purchasing of food or necessary items. A total of 84 families received assistance during the 2014 year.
birthday celebrations/wish granting program - the child battling cancer is given the opportunity to make a wish or request that is fulfilled. The child also receives a birthday celebration on the day of their birthday completely covered by our organization. We were able to provide this service to 36 childhood cancer patients during the 2014 year.
rental assistance: assistance is provided to families who have a child diagnosed with cancer in order to assist in the payment of their apartment or their home.
gas and transportation assistance: assistance is provided to families who have a child diagnosed with cancer in order to assist in the transportation of the child to and from the hospital. We provide gas gift cards and fuel ups along with direct transportation for the patient and their family.
holiday celebrations and events: celebratory events exclusively for children diagnosed with cancer and their families to attend. Child and family receive a meal, an evening of fun and entertainment and gifts.
meal, food and grocery assistance: assistance is provided to families who have a child diagnosed with cancer in order to assist in the purchasing of food and groceries. Meals are also provided to the children per their request when hospitalized in the event that the family cannot afford to purchase the meal the child is requesting.
pajama and clothing program: assistance is provided to families who have a child diagnosed with cancer in the form of providing them with a new, clean pajama during their hospital stay. Pajamas are handed out to the patients during each hospital visit providing them with comfort during their treatment.
bill payment assistance: assistance is provided to families who have a child diagnosed with cancer in the form of bill payment. Financial assistance is provided to the family to cover their utility bills.
sporting events: assistance is provided to families who have a child diagnosed with cancer by providing them with the opportunity to attend a sporting event or family entertainment event free of cost. Tickets and snacks are provided to the families.
