Mission: Julie's family learning program is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty among low-income, at risk families by providing services that enable mothers and their children to become healthy, responsible, successful, and economically self-sufficient members of their communities.
Programs: Adult education - the adult education program is aimed towards single mothers. The program provides counseling, educational opportunities, life skills development and career development programs to clients to help break the cycle of poverty. The program served 36 women preparing for hi-set exams. One woman became employed.
child development - the child development program includes infant and toddler and preschool services. The program is designed to aid in the development of skills that will ensure success in later educational settings. The program provided safe care for 52 children enabling their mothers to attend classes 22 hours per week, year around. Family support provided classes for 36 women of whom 74% attained their goals in improving wellness, home management, and parenting skills.
