Causes: Health, Patient & Family Support
Mission: Josh cares provides companionship and comfort to children hospitalized in critical care units at children's hospitals who are alone. Josh cares fellows serve as surrogates for, and as links to, the families who would be by their children's sides if they could.
Programs: Provide grants to cincinnati children's hospital in order to provide life care specialists specifically to the picu patients whose families are not able to be with them consistently during their hospitalization. The child life staff provide support through medical procedures, provide therapeutic play and developmentally-appropriate activities to help patients cope with their injury or illness, and to provide a familiar, friendly face and support system for patients, siblings and parents.
