Causes: Cancer
Mission: The organization's mission is to serve the new york state counties of herkimer, madison, oneida, and onondaga in the following ways: to provide funding for cancer research and education, raise awareness in order to advance cures or aid in treatments, aid those currently suffering, promote prevention and early detection, and help guide and advocate for families and patients battling all types of cancers; to provide support to child life programs located in charitable facilities such as hospitals, foundations, and/or treatment centers, provide funding for equipment to charitable hospitals, foundations, hospices, and other charitable treatment centers, and offer grants and financial assistance to individuals or families in crisis displaying a need. We will develop a cancer hotline to aid in advocacy and promote knowledge and awareness of cancer care that include whereabouts of available treatment facilities. Programs: Patients receive monetary assistance to defray costs of medical and medical related travel costs associated with treatment, as well as basic living expenses while undergoing treatment for self or immediate family. 104 individuals were assisted.

non-monetary awards given to individuals, hospitals and organizations in the form of sleeper chairs, beds, and other medical supplies to be used during cancer treatments were valued at $9,394. Related non-monetary donations received were valued at $8,317. Also, the organization sponsors a matching gift program whereby monetary donations can be made and represent half the cost of a sleeper chair, to which the organization would pay for the remainder from its general fund, however no matchng donations were made this year. Seven individuals and three organizations received noncash items.
