Mission: The mission of the jordan e. Harris foundation is to eradicate suicide by funding depression research, creating awarness through education, erasing the stigma and providing hope to those who are struggling in silence.
Programs: The jordan e. Harris foundation funded research, provided education and awareness, and worked towards the elimination of stigma attached to mental illness and suicide. In 2017, the foundation provided 65,000 in depression research funding to ut southwestern medical center for depression research and clinical care. Approximately 1,600 adults were trained in a one-hour question, persuade, refer(qpr) suicide prevention training. More than a dozen people in partner agencies received qpr suicide prevention certification training. Through the hope squad program, more than 12,000 tarrant county school children received ongoing suicide prevention services and support throughout the school year.
