Causes: Community Coalitions
Mission: Fostering a sense of community and family wellness by providing food, clothing, educational programs and support services.
Programs: Our organization has created community partnerships to promote and provide a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for those in need in the johnston community and school district. We mobilize community health resources, promote opportunities for positive youth development, and provide human services. In 2017-18, our school based community mentoring program matched 103 students with an adult mentor to ensure a positive school experience. Partnership place, our community service center, provides food and clothing to more than 1,000 individuals each month. Our 1st annual johnston-based back to school clinic helped more than 200 students get ready with necessary medical services and school supplies. Our weekend backpack programs fed almost 200 students each weekend during the school year. And we had 2 summer lunch sites this summer in johnston that fed an average of 100 kids each day.
