Joe joes is the best! They always take care of animals in need without any hesitation! They are so professional and so compassionate when it comes to animals! I adopted my best friend jersey through them and could not ever picture my life without her! They are the best!!
My little boy Benji is celebrating his 2nd Birthday and 1 year anniversary of adoption this month. He went from shelter to stroller and is content, loved and spoiled as he should be. He provides unconditional love to everyone he meets and I am so grateful to Joe Joe’s for rescuing him They were thorough in their screening, reasonable in their pricing and easy to work with. I’ve yet to adopt an animal from Joe Joes place due to my busy work schedule however you can see that they take the utmost care of all their animals from the day they receive the animal and even after they are adopted.
From introduction through final delivery of our adopted puppy, the staff of JJP and their foster family was absolutely wonderful. We have kept in touch and are actively looking adopt a second dog.
I fostered two puppies for Joe Joe's this summer. It was my first time fostering. The rescue provided me with everything I needed and was available to answer my questions at any time. The second puppy came to with severe diarrhea and I was very concerned. I notified the rescue immediately and they were at my house within an hour! to take the puppy to the vet. Michele and others care so much about the dogs, they made sure that the puppies went to homes that fit their specific needs and personality. It was a pleasure volunteering for Joe Joe's and I am hoping to do it again in the future
I adopted my Callie from Joe Joe’s Place and she is wonderful! She was in their care for several months and they had taken great care of her; they literally saved her life since she had seizures when she came to them. She had not been spayed when I adopted her since she was on medication, but they still paid for her spay after I adopted her, after a neurologist cleared her. Joe Joe’s Place does amazing work!
Ive seen Joe Joes on Facebook but just recently seen what a great job Joe Joe’s has been doing to try and find the owners of dogs they rescue ! Great job!!
We adopted two dogs and fostered two puppies with Joe Joe's. They are great to work with. They take great care of their dogs and work so hard to make sure they all get wonderful homes.
I adopted our dog thru Joe Joe's place. We cannot imagine our life without Skylar formally Jade. They were excellent to work with and also saved her life from a high kill shelter.

I had been looking for a dog for 6 months. I came across Joe Joe's Place on the internet. After a bit of research I found out that this rescue was started as a memorial to their son. I was very moved by that. I filled out their registration form and after 1 day was accepted. They had a pup which they called Cameron. I brought my beagle to see how he would react. I did my meet and greet right on their front lawn and this pup was not being kept in a cage rather she was in their kitchen playing with her litter mates. The pup's behavior was excellent and I could see that all the family members interacted with her. She was so well adjusted and happy. The next day they drove her up to my home which was 1 1/2 hours away to deliver her to me! I cannot thank Joe Joe's place enough for the care they gave my pup! I highly recommend this rescue group!
Joe Joes work is extraordinary! They not only find the most capable foster families for their pets in transition , they make sure they’re well matched to their forever homes. Not only have I adopted from them, my friends have also - one adopted his brother!

My family and I had an amazing experience with Joe Joe’s place. We had lost our dog, after 12 years, to cancer. After about 5 months we decided we were ready to get a dog and of course we wanted to rescue. We reached out to multiple rescues and some denied us because of not having a fenced in yard, some never got back to us as one even asked if we understood the financial responsibility of owning a dog (even after we shared our story of our previous dog which included rescuing him, nursing him back to health, giving him an amazing life and in the end spending 10k to try and treat his cancer) We were recommended to Joe Joe’s by a friend who had rescued from them previously. We planned to contact them but before we even could, they had posted about a 6 month old American Bulldog and our friend tagged us in the post. I got so excited as we were looking for a Bulldog and she was beautiful. I was nervous to get my hopes up because we could not believe how much trouble we had trying to rescue, knowing we would give any dog an amazing life. We put our application in and were contacted within 24 hours. We were able to meet with Maggie just two days later and able to take her home the next day. All the staff at Joe Joe’s were so helpful with us and as excited as we were to make Maggie apart of our family. They do wonderful work, with a wonderful staff. We cannot thank them enough for bringing our newest family member to us and allowing us to share our love with her!
We found out about the animals at JoeJoe’s by accident when a woman and her cute dog walked by my place of business. I couldn’t help but ask where she got such a cute dog!!!i looked on line and there I McElroy completely in love with a puppy that was being fostered just a mile from me. Lollipop has been with us six years and is now a therapy dog helping challenged kids read and soon to be giving comfort to hospital patients.
We still keep in touch with her foster family and encourage everyone we can to look at JoeJoe’s for their furever friend!

I have held a couple fundraisers, helped out in a couple others and also adopted a one-child from Joe Joe's Place. This is an awesome rescue with the right people involved hourly and running it. I wouldn't adopt from anywhere else!
I rescued my Jake from joe joes place and it was one of the best things to happen to me!! The foster mom (Jackie) had him all but trained by the time he came home. He is now 4 and we truly are grateful that he picked us!! We love joe joes rescue!

If it wasn't for Joe Joe's Place rescuing as many animals as they do, I would not have my wonderful dog named Zook. They rescued him all the way from Virginia. He was left outside away from his mother who was Chained to the ground at that time. But this network of wonderful people stepped in and saved him, his mother, and his siblings. If it wasn't for Joe Joe's Place stepping in and rescuing them I would never be able to tell you how blessed I am to have a wonderful animal that has made such an impact in my life. I suffer from anxiety, but my dog makes those hard days bearable. It's like we both got our second chance from this wonderful non-profit organization. I can never thank them enough!
He work Joe Joe’s Place does is remarkable.,whether it be from fundraising events to midnight runs to pick up litters of pups, Every member’s unwaivering passion and drive to help these abandoned, sick and injured pups never cease to amaze me. My two pups, Phoebe and Benny, were rescued from near death and nursed back to health by the caring foster families. They are healthy and thriving and I am so proud to support this non profit organization in any way.

Joe Joe’s Place Animal Sanctuary has been my saving grace for many reasons. I wanted to rescue a puppy to help keep our older dog active, but also to keep me more active. I didn’t know anything about rescues, or how they handled their adoptions. So I did research. Every dog is fostered and cared for, including all medical needs by the Joe Joe’s Sanctuary family. They are not locked in cages. They are loved and cared for until the day they are adopted, and even then, there are continued “pupdates” . The adoption process is very thorough and professional, and each and every person I dealt with were kind and caring, and made sure I was the right match for my puppy and my puppy was the right match for me. I have been Scarlett’s mom for 2 years now, and I am blessed and truly grateful for everything Joe Joe’s Animal Sanctuary has done and continues to do to save the lives of unwanted and neglected animals. They are a wonderful nonprofit organization that deserves all the help and support any one could possibly help them with. I guess I fill the role of client and donor ( I try to donate as often as I can to fundraisers or anything else that may be urgent at the time)

Five years ago, thanks to Joe Joe's Place, our lives became enriched by the adoption of Jessie and Woody. Jessie had come into rescue at Joe Joe's just hours before delivering 12 beautiful puppies. Traditionally the litters are named after film characters and as luck would have it, we ended up with Jessie and Woody. From the application process, to the screening and introduction process, to picking up our furever babies, Joe Joe's Place was amazing. The love they show the dogs makes them ready to be placed with their new people. Thank you to everyone at Joe Joe's for making our lives better, and for spreading the canine love!
When our last shep passed away suddenly we were devastated. We were finally ready for a new shep. Friends shared with a post from Joe Joes Place was receiving puppies that were rescued from a puppy mill. I immediately filed my application & was politely & promptly notified, they were all adopted. I was sad. But about a week later they followed up with to let me know one was available, there was no hesitation! Joe Joes Place made our experience awesome & what a gift. They work hard to rescue both animals & humans, providing a much needed bond for both.

We got our first puppy charley from joe joes place. They were so friendly and helpful and kept in touch to make sure our new puppy’s transition went smoothly. Then a year later we loved him so much we went right back to joe joes place to look for a second. We fell in love with a skittish little two year old beagle chi mix and the first day we had her she pulled out of her collar and ran away. That night 8 people from the rescue cake immediately and helped us for two hours search in the dark until she was home safely. They truly care about the well being of all their pets and it doesn’t end with the adoption. They are always there to help. This is truly a special organization and I don’t know if I would go anywhere else for s rescue pup!
We continue to be delighted with Ike (originally Hamlin) a true Kentucky blend (dobie, retriever, and hound when he barks/bays). He's now 10 months old, and we've had him for 7 of those months, took him on vacation to Maine in August, and are doubling down on training this fall. Joe Joe's Place was everything an animal adoption/rescue organization should be: organized, thorough, communicative, caring, and well-informed. I cannot commend them and recommend them highly enough.

Joe Joe’s is great!! We love our pup we got from them! Its been a year and a half since we got our “Hix” (once Cheese:) and we adore him! I don’t know who is the most smitten with him because we all are!! I remember Joe Joes being great with the meet ups, and how they nursed our little guy back to health, so he could get a family!! He and his brother were strays left for dead as I recall, and here today, they both got adopted, and our guy is soo happy and loved! He is a lovable lap dog to a play play play guy!! They are really making a difference and every organization like them should stay running! We always recommend them to others & our so thankful they got our pup to us!
Tomorrow our family celebrates 4 years of working with this wonderful organization that has become an extended family. In the past 4 years we have fostered 32 dogs and only “failed” 3 times. A foster “fail” is when you just can’t let them go and they become your own furever pet. 10% isn’t too bad...at least, that’s what I tell my husband!! While Joe Joe’s rescues the cute, adorable, easily-adoptable puppies, they also rescue the sick, the senior and the ones who have no where else to turn. My favorite story is about a little old guy named Leo. Leo was dumped on the side of a dark, deserted road by his “owners”. He was, luckily, picked up by a friend of mine and we quickly learned the sad truth that Leo was dumped because he was old and very sick. Joe Joe’s Place stepped right in and welcomed Leo into the Joe Joe’s Sanctuary which is their version of assisted living/hospice for senior pups. Leo was able to live out his remaining months in the comfort of a warm home with loving humans who cared more about that little guy than his “owners”.

I never saw myself with a dog of my own. Joe Joe’s opened me to a whole new experience. From being interviewed to seeing photos of my foster dog and meeting him for the first time, Joe Joe’s made the experience feel right for me.
Always available for questions, they made my transfer from fostering a dog to adopting him and letting him into my life seem so right.

They made the adoption very smooth, pleasant & kept me updated during the process of checking my vets, references& my home. They drove to WV to pick her up and bring her to meet me. I was told i could decide within 2 weeks if she was a good match for our family...but it was love at first sight!.....Highly recommend this rescue

4 years ago we adopted our baby boy Dawkins. He was from a litter of Shiba Inu mix puppies. He was instantly a member of the family and my son's best friend. Joe joes Place made it possible for us to complete our family. They are a wonderful organization with some of the BEST people working for and with them!!
We had a great experience when we got Chase from Joe Joes Place. Chase had a rough start before Joe Joes got him. They saved him from that rough start and helped him get adjusted to what a normal, loving environment should be. He's a great dog. I would get another dog from Joe Joes Place without hesitation.
I've been working with this rescue group going on five years now. They are an amazing bunch of people who always put the animals in their care first. They may not be the easiest rescue to adopt from (they actually do vet and background checks!) but in doing so, that puts the welfare of the animal they're placing ahead of the need to get that animal out the door. Their animals' safety and comfort always comes first, no matter what the cost. (Remember that puppy that ate a corn cob? That was an expensive fix!) They fundraise endlessly, and always have new and fun events to attend, in order to keep their adoption costs down and their bills paid. They are, by far, the best animal rescue around!
We wanted a fur baby to grow up with our human baby. We know that JJP treats their animals as family, so they were the only ones we trusted to get our puppy from! Over a year later, our Remi is our son’s best friend. When we’re ready to add another dog to our clan, we’ll be using JJP. A great group of people with amazing hearts for what they do.

I adopted from Joe Joes Place a few years ago and they were the BEST! They got back to my request fast and helped us through the whole process. (It was my first adoption) I love how caring they are about all the animals. I would definitely recommend them!!
We found our mixed breed puppy, Lolli, at JoeJoes Place 5 years ago. She came to us from a wonderful foster family that gave her a great start. She was socialized, cage trained and anxious to win our affection which she did the very first minute.
Lolli just passed her AKC GOOD CITIZEN test and also her ADVANCED Stex placement test and will be part of a therapy team. We will visit hospitals, nursing homes, schools and libraries where Lolli can share her doggie love with everyone.
Thanks to JoeJoe’s her start in life prepared her to be the very best she can be and she can share her smile with lots of people in our community that need help smiling.

I have been with this organization for over 6 years and have fostered many puppies for them. It is the most rewarding experience and the people who volunteer as well are the best. I’ve definitely created life long friendships as well as a special place in my heart for all of my fosters.

Joe Joe's Place Animal Rescue has helped to make my family whole again. Five and a half years ago we lost our lab suddenly. Our hearts had a hole that left us empty and sad. Anyone who has ever lost a pet knows the feeling of walking in a house where you are no longer greeted. Finding a toy that is no longer played with or the leash hanging in the closet with the collar attached and no doggie to take for that walk. After some time we wanted to bring in an other dog but were just not sure if our hearts could handle it or if it would ever be the same. My husband worked with a gentleman that fostered for Joe Joe's Place and had shared that they were looking for fosters. I was really unsure about it. I mean, who can bring in a dog and then hand it over to someone else without feeling that loss once again but I decided to look at it from the other angle. What if we adopted and were not really ready yet? After all, no one could replace our Sunnianne. What could we lose by opening our hearts to help a dog in need. Well we opted to foster, to see if we were truly ready to open our hearts and I can't even begin to explain how much these dogs helped us, more than we were helping them! I get asked all of the time how I can foster and not fall in love with each and every dog and all I can say is that for every dog I help find a furever home, there are hundreds more who wont be as lucky and that when one dog finds a home, I have room to help another. They taught us it was safe to love again and to make room in our home and hearts for more fury friends. This group of dog lovers are truly always looking out for the best interest of every pup they come in contact with. I have sat back at times in awe of the lengths they will go to help as many animals as possible. I wish people cared as much for each other as this group does for animals. It is an honor to be a part of this great group.

4 years ago a litter of eight puppies, were dropped off without their mother only a few days old. The Bogdanowicz's, fostered these pups through Joe-Joe's animal rescue. They bottle-fed all eight puppies from the litter through each night & day until they no longer needed it. This family not only saved our dogs' lives but countless others. They are selfless giving people and have helped to make Joe-Joe's Place the successful animal rescue it is today.
Zoey and Lexi joined our family after being saved thanks to Joe-Joes's Place and have been with us ever since. We couldn't be happier with our fur babies! They are truly special animals and have been amazing big foster sisters to our foster pups throughout the years.
