Causes: Ethnic & Immigrant Centers, Human Services, Immigration
Mission: To represent the metropolitan detroit jewish community, israel and jews throughout the world to the general community, and to establish collaborative relationships with other ethnic, racial, and religious groups. Jcrc educates and advocates on important issues, seeking consensus with a commitment to jewish values.
Programs: Programs to improve relations between jewish and non-jewish communities and provide for interaction, discussion and advocacy in these communities.
media luncheon - gathering of media executives, editors, and reporters for a briefing from middle east/israel expert. The event furthers this important constituency's knowledge of complex issues and increases understanding of community concerns.
activist event - this event highlights the extraordinary achievements of a community leader (or couple) through their volunteer activities.
mitzvah day - annual volunteering program on christmas day that brings together jewish and muslim communities to volunteer at social service sites (enabling christian employees to take the day off).
