About 6 years ago, my wife and I had a friend who convinced us to go with her to a La'ag B'omer bonfire BBQ at Doc Wiler beach. Little did we know how our lives were going to be forever changed as a result of the people we met that night... To make a long story short, the people we met that night, and the people we continued meeting via the gatherings orchestrated by this grass roots group over the next few years, are now our best friends. We've happily moved into the 'hood in order to "deeper connect" ourselves right into the heart of this amazing Jewish renaissance era that's going on RIGH NOW here, in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood of Los Angeles. Now, 6 years later, we're watching our kids grow up with the kids of countless other couples that we've met via this organization, and it's simply beautiful... We love living Jewishly in a style that's all our own.... we have an amazingly rich and wholesome community, dear friends, incredible late night jam sessions, super yummy shabbos meals together, crazy-deep discussions about life and Torah, on and on and on.... need I say more?!?
I love JConnect it is a wonderful organization that brings Jews of all kinds together. The events are both fun and meaningful! Everyone is always welcomed at JConnect! It is thrilling to know that there is always a great Jewish party on the horizon with JConnect! Come to an event you'll be happy you did!
Their goal is so simple: bring Jews together in a fun and relaxed environment without any undertones of obligation or "singledom." What you get is a fantastic crowd of people who just want to meet up, have a good time and learn from some of the most amazing teachers I have ever known. JConnect is a very accepting and open-minded crowd. I really never imagined anything beyond my own ho-hum, but having a sense of spirituality and regard for who you are is exciting. I had no identity until I accidentally stumbled upon JConnect. A few years later, I now live and thrive in the LA Jewish Community -- I'm on the national board of a very large and old Jewish charity and I have joined a temple. Lately, I have been trying to tell everyone: JConnect is directly responsible for this! :) As always I like to say, I found myself at JConnect.
JConnectLA, and its leadership, are playing a transformative role in Los Angeles Jewish life. You see it in the passion of their volunteers, the success of JConnectLA events, and its continued growth. Highly recommended.
