Programs: From 2016 to 2017, we helped underprivileged students in china to finish their high school education, in partnership with overseas china education foundation (ocef). The sole mission of ocef is to help underprivileged children in impoverished rural areas of china receive education and improve the quality of education in rural china. With this goal in mind, we completed a one-to-one support program for 4 high school students in north west of china. Our criteria of selecting underprivileged students are based on their family situation and their financial needs urgency. Therefore, our preference is given to students who are in senior years and are ready to start college level education. In addition, we consider female students with higher priority, as we have noticed that female students have less opportunities than male students under the same circumstances. Among the 4 students, 3 of them are female students. We keep on tracking the support status of all 4 students and they all successf on august 31 2017, we worked with alvarado kindercare to organize a teacher and students family event. The goal of this event is to encourage parents participations in children's early education and take efficiently communications among teachers, parents and peer students. The event was divided into three parts: 1. Students performance show and teacher show; 2. Outdoor activities and magic show by third party providers; and 3. Ice cream and pot luck party. We bought books and toys denoted to alvarado kindercare and paid for food, ice cream and jump house rentals. Kindercare paid the table rental and some of the activity cost. Other students' parent brought homemade food. The total related expense is $1,441. 82.
