Mission: The mission of indiana university laporte physicians, inc. (iuhlp) is to provide high quality medical care to the residents of laporte, county and surrounding areas. Iuhlp complements indiana university laporte hospital, inc. (iuhlh) in providing integrated and community-based health care by encouraging and supporting healthier communities and lifestyles within our service area.
Programs: Iu health laporte physicians (iuhlp) has provided highly skilled and board certified/eligible physicians in cardiology, pediatric, family care, women's healthcare, orthopedic, and internal medicine within the county as well as surrounding areas. With well over 100,000 patients seen annually, iu health laporte physicians continues to expand its services in convenient locations by offering quality healthcare to those in need of specialty care services as neurological, general surgery, and pain management services. In committing itself to the community, iuhlp participates in health fairs as well as provides sports physicals to students in the area it serves. Also, physicians within the group have been recognized nationally for providing quality diabetes care and designing joint replacement instruments and implants that are used nationwide.
iu health laporte physicians ((iuhlp) has provided many opportunities to the community to help heighten awareness of health education. Lectures, presentations, wellness screenings, health fairs, support groups and other programs were provided to accomplish the awareness goal. The community health center (chc) provides medical assistance to individuals residing in laporte county who have low income or no health insurance. Some of the services offered at the health center include prescription drug assistance, physical exams, gynecological exams and lab and diagnostic services through laporte hospital. During 2014, the community health center received 5,874 visits from patients, generated $813,796 in gross patient revenue, and had revenue of $306,178. Also the center provided over $931,261 in pharmaceutical drugs that were given away through the indigent drug program. The second largest program was the clinic services provided at the laporte county dental clinic (cdc). The cdc guarantees that both children and adults with low income and no dental insurance have access to quality dental care. Services provided through the dental clinic include dental exams, teeth cleanings, fillings, tooth extractions, dentures, partials and more. The cdc provided more than $1,579,470 in gross patient services; a net revenue of $296,882 and provided services for 5,483 visits during 2014. Both the community health center and the laporte county dental clinic are supported in part by the foundation.
