As of the end of this month the turtle rescue is no longer a non profit cause they never filed paperwork that was needed to retain said stature nor have they filed nessacery paperwork as to the Financials in over a year

This place is a scam , constant go fund me pages and misusing the money,also john has spent 40 days in jail for pulling a gun on a family,the child was 8yrs old there are also other charges where he inappropriately touched an 18yr old, the woman lienette is a menace to society, poohs in a bucket and puts it on the land,also there is a 4yr old child who is abused,nit toilet trained,locked in a hot shed and sleeps in a hammock,search her name lie preston and watch the fish and game video to c the state of the property, DO NOT DONATE TO THIS SCAM ARTIST

I have 4 Succata tortoises at my farm in Florida. I have researched this turtle rescue in Otter Creek for 2 years. This person is a scam and probably the worst person in Florida to host any animal. As a last resort she can bring me all the living tortoises and I will take them off her hands.

This is not any sort of rescue service. It's a combination junk yard, drug den, unregistered lunatic asylum, run by 2 criminals. They allow drug scum to live on the property in metal sheds until everything blows up in their faces and they have to either run them off, or they flee. The male there is currently rotting in jail for pointing a gun at a young family including an 8 year old child visiting across the street. He has no way to pay the bail money so he's likely to stay there for the foreseeable future, thank goodness. The woman, a former adult entertainment worker, is a con artist from the word go. They both have a ton of legal/criminal cases they'll have to deal with in the near future. The child living on the property is not their legally adopted child. She's a child the woman conned away from the child's relative so she could get money from the government for the child. That's the only thing the woman knows how to do well, play the system

But as usual the incompetent courts in Levy Co. and the state of Florida do little to nothing to stop these people. It's likely only a matter of time before both of those people are in jail and that little girl is carted off to some foster home which may or may not be a better situation. Hopefully her decent relatives can get custody of her so she'll have a chance at a good life.

And He answered the Phone like this "WHO THE PHUCK IS THIS?, and before I could even say my Full name He screamed into the Phone to S.U.CK HIS ������ and I said excuse me And he asked me If I needed a Q-tip to get all the dried up SPERM outta my ears. But Sperm wasn't the 3 lettered word he used that starts with a C and ends with a M

So what kinda place is this? And With that kinda talk Over their business number I will not be donating and Feed and Hay and a 1200 gallon Water Tub for the Animals.

Before you give any money out animals to this place do a criminal background check I on both John Cook and Lynette Preston you don’t need much information and it’s really cheap to do one and according to Lynette herself John is a drug dealer and Lynette had a step daughter removed from her care due to being a child abuser there is proof on the step daughters YouTube and counselors saying the child was being abused if she would abuse her step child imagine what she does to an animal. They also constantly let drug addicts live on the property doings drugs. I wouldn’t trust these people with a rock.

I went to Miami to get out of the cold in December. I saw Its A Shell Thing on Facebook it said it was open to public and the Address is clearly posted. When I arrived a crazy looking man burst out of a camper cussing me out and making threats. A cloud of smoke billowing out behind him, and a smell I recognize from my youth and marijuana filled the air. He began screaming at me that this is private property and many more curse words. When I explained i was here to see the Turtle rescue, he said its not open to the public. I then told him the Facebook page says its open to the public. He replied its wrong get the F off my property before I shoot you. As I was leaving the property this really really old lady just tiny as can be and probably 80 years old by the look of her came waddling out and said there is no public viewing yet but I can donate money to help feed the turtles and for building her house or something like that. All in all I felt in more danger there than when I accidentally drove through O block in Chicago.

I am the trustee of a trust. I am in search of a non profit to make a donation to. I live in the Levy County area and found this non profit on line. I made a trip out to their location and was disgusted by the conditions of this property. It is worse than the ghetto. Trash everywhere. Make shift enclosures. This is not a reputable non profit. They are not a true professional rescue at all. I will not be donating to this joke of a rescue. I encourage others to not fall for this. It’s not a true rescue. Looks like a garage and a camper is living area. Enclosures look like they were made by children. I smell a scam. I’ll keep looking for a proper legal place to donate.

there are a lot of people who is trashing the person who has the rescue,this is a shame,she is taking in turtles and feeding them and taking care of them,she loves them,the people who are making those fake views are friends of Jeremy Hales who is being disrespecting to the owner,the owner of the rescue is doing what other people is not she is taking care of those animals

The property is literally a dump. The owner is always the "victim" and never takes responsibility for things that she does. She is always blaming someone else. Find a real sanctuary to take your animals to. Definitely stay away from this fraud.

She got cited for no water, shade for her so called rescued animals. Please don't donate. The animals need to be taken from them. They are scam artists. DNR was called and report made.

Someone who claims to be a rescue in a residential area, not open to the public is not a rescue. From driving by the property it looks like a dump not fit for animals or people.

Michelle takes great care of the turtles and tortoises in her care. Having just established a non profit this year, it's progressing as she can get it done.
She is the target of a YouTuber whose followers scour the 'net to find ways to undermine her rescue and her life. These people giving negative reviews have never been to Florida for the most part, much less visited the rescue.

I asked for the financials to be posted once she once again claimed she was disabled and her 3 year old is sick and needing money. Instead of sharing them, she deleted and blocked me. Another woman did as well. Blocked. So, I asked Lynette for them on another profile of mine. Same thing. She claimed I was working for some guy named Jeremy. I don't know a Jeremy.
