Mission: To work collaboratively on water issues and mobilize on-the-ground actions that encourage diverse sustainable use, protection, recovery and enjoyment of itasca countys world-class water and shoreland resources that are critical to a strong economy.
Programs: Aquatic inavasive species ais project - with allocation of funds in mn state ais aid, itasca county established an ais program policy that guides the use of funds for the itasca county ais program. Enhancement of iwlps efforts in ais prevention and control is included in the cooperative agreement with the county. The ais project was turned over to the county in 2016. There was a van wrap project promoting the prevention of transporting ais that was completed in 2017. All remaining funds were transferred back to the county see part xi, line 9 and schedule o.
iwlp held a youth water summit for 400 5th graders at the itasca county fairgrounds. 45 science presenters provided presentations and there were 110 adult volunteers.
