Mission: Into The Light International is a collective of ordinary individuals with extraordinary hearts, committed to serving and uplifting society’s most vulnerable. We symbolize the planting of a seed of hope, the restoration of lost hope, and the discovery of light amidst the darkest of times. It signifies finding love and belonging after enduring significant pain and rejection, realizing that one is never truly alone. Our mission extends to those in dire need. We stand by the Orphan, offering alternatives to a life marred by sexual exploitation, human trafficking, homelessness, or despair. We support the resilient Widow, who finds herself unable to provide for her family after the loss of her spouse and provider. We champion the cause of the impoverished Foreigner, who, having nothing, seeks refuge and support in a world that often turns a blind eye. We offer each of them a lifeline when hope appears to be lost. In a world where many pass by with indifference, we are here with our hands outstretched, offering compassion and hope. Join us in becoming a beacon of light in this world.
Results: On Oct 12, 2022, we taught our first class, computers, to 15 pregnant girls ranging from 12 to 17 years old. With the start of 2023, word of ITLI’s classes spread around the city and each month we are continuously adding new protection homes/orphanages and more kids to our ever-growing Orphan Education Program. Since our first class 11 months ago, we have taught 721 weekly classes to over 500 children. Our classes include English, Computers, Professional Education, Healthy Relationships, Career Day, and our most recently added Music class. In August of 2023, we started our Job Placement Program. This program is for orphans who have aged-out of protection homes/orphanages or those with disabilities, both physical and cognitive. We have designed assessment tests, hired staff, and formed alliances with businesses, and job placement agencies. Since the start of this program, we have successfully placed 3 people in a job, 2 with disabilities and 1 aged-out orphan. This program is taking off extremely fast as there is a huge need. Already our staff is crazy busy and every day more kids are being added to the program. In October of 2023, we started our Transition Program. We have successfully transitioned 5 young adults through our home and with several more currently in the home and in the approval process to enter. The young adults at our Transition Home have faced tough beginnings without crucial familial support. Each story is a testament to resilience, seeking a narrative of empowerment, growth, and self-sufficiency rather than sympathy. Our days with the amazing kids of Casa De La Luz are filled with laughter, adventures, and heartwarming memories. We are incredibly grateful to be a part of each of their lives.
