Mission: To provide a safe digital landscape for children, schools, and families by supporting the protection of student privacy while advancing learning in a digital culture.
Programs: Privacy: to assist providers of websites, online services, data management programs, and other technologies that may be used in schools and/or are directed to children under the age of 13 to help ensure that the data handling practices and the practices surrounding collection, use, maintenance and disclosure of personal information from children are consistent with the principles and requirements of coppa, ferpa and california state privacy laws.
solutions: to develop curriculum for grades k-12 youth for the six pillars of sucess for online digital citizenship: balance, ethics, privacy, reputation, relationships, and online security (beapro).
domestic programs: to promote the ethical use of copyrighted material, to address balance with technology and avoiding harmful content, and create privacy curriculum for children grades k-12.
international programs: to provide expertise and guidance to various international organizations regarding children's digital citizenship and online safety and security.
