I've been a significant donor for a while now. Also I am deeply engaged as a volunteer and mentor with some of the projects ICF supports in Asia, and last year I was invited to join the Board of Directors. ICF selects and supports field partners that are cost effective, engaged with local communities, using science based methodologies, and defending the most critical ecosystems. See the attached shots from the 2024 Annual Report for more info or go to www.internationalconservationfund.org.
I recently joined the board, having lots of nonprofit organizational experience but little hands-on conservation experience. I was drawn by ICF's fluidity in making decisions about projects, low overhead, and focus on the actual work of field partners in converting ICF's vision into reality. I took a trip to Cambodia to evaluate two projects and was impressed with the effectiveness of the projects and quality of the administration. I was hooked. ICF gets bang for every buck. ICF is small, smart, and agile, a mammal among dinosaurs. If you are a donor who wants to see how fast and efficiently a donation can be converted into a conservation win, I cannot think of a better use. Check ICF out online and in the usual evaluation sites.
