Mission: The interfaith movement for human integrity works to achieve an equitable, inclusive and healthy society, culture, and economy where the most vulnerable, disenfranchised and marginalized have equal opportunities and access to the resources and tools needed to achieve a dignified quality of life.
Programs: Interfaith movement for human integrity (im4humanintegrity) is a california organization that connects clergy and people of faith to the work of social justice. Operating where social movements and spirituality overlap, we work to make the criminal justice system more just and restorative, and the immigration system more fair and humane. In the last two years, we trained 1,800 people of faith to take leadership roles, engaged 200 congregations and partner organizations, and reached more than 40,000 people with a message of hope, love and resilience. Core strategies and activitieswe use faith-rooted leadership development and community organizing to make our society more just, equitable and inclusive. Our core strategies are:faith-rooted community organizing: we engage people from different religious traditions to work together towards social and economic justice through spirituality, reflection and action. Leadership development: using art, culture, faith reflection and popular education, we build the capacity and confidence of people affected by injustice and their allies. We train leaders to speak in public about their experiences and values. Strategic communication: we change the public narrative by amplifying the voices of those left at the margins and using morality to frame political choices. Coalition building: we bring the voice of the faith community and the power of spiritual belief to the broader movement for social justice. Our constituencywe work with clergy and people of faith from congregations and spiritual communities across california. Our work aims to bring together people across racial lines and from different faith traditions, and engage them in a larger social movement for racial justice and human rights. Our grassroots participants include both those who are directly impacted by racism, poverty, discrimination and criminalization, and allies.
