Mission: Saint Paul Area Council of Churches, established in 1906, is a nonprofit organization composed of 700 member congregations from the East Metropolitan area. Nearly 300 congregations representing 30 denominations (including interfaith and independent organizations) actively participate in our programs. A 26-member Board of Directors elected by delegates of member congregations governs the Council. Programs are implemented by 53 staff (26 FTE) and depend heavily on more than 5,000 volunteers. Although we are a faith-based organization, our programs are not for proselytizing purposes. Our mission is to build a more just and compassionate society. We connect congregations, faith communities, and civic organizations to achieve our goals of reducing poverty; promoting peace and reducing violence; and dismantling racism and other barriers that divide our community.
