Mission: The Inter-American Dialogue, founded in 1982, engages public and private leaders from across the Americas in efforts to develop and mobilize support for cooperative responses to key hemispheric problems and opportunities.
Programs: Migration, remittances and development: the inter-american dialogue's migration, remittances and development program seeks to leverage migration and remittances for development. We focus on policies governing the flow of remittances, private sector financial and remittance services, and financial access for migrants and remittance recipient families. Through research, policy analysis, technical assistance, product development and project implementation, we have raised awareness and forged partnerships among public and private institutions in over 80 countries around the world.

Policy: the dialogue's work (on us policy) includes a range of projects and events that focus on us policy toward latin america and the caribbean generally, and towards specific countries and issues. This includes the dialogue's programs on the andean region, brazil, mexico, cuba, and the nations of central america; on us-latin american trade negotiations; and on the us participation in inter-american institutions.
the inter-american dialogue's education program aims to improve the quality of learning and skills development across latin america. We do so by partnering with public and private organizations throughout the hemisphere to promote informed debate on education policy, identify and disseminate best practices, and monitor progress toward improvement. Our cutting-edge analysis of education policy and its broad network of policymakers, education experts, business leaders, academics, and journalists have made it the strongest private voice on education in the region.
