The institute will serve its mission through development of scientific research, public education, public policy and community building.
Programs: Forest health program: is a collaborative effort to advance the country's understanding and role of biotechnology to address some of today's most pressing forest health challenges.
responsible use program: aims to develop global principles that guide responsible use of forest biotechnology.
pine genome program: is designed to unlock the secrets of the pine genome resulting in healthier forests, advanced biofuels, more carbon equestration, and better forest products.
forest fuels program: focuses on understanding the maximum sustainable potential of using trees for fuel.
