Mission: To operate and act exclusively for charitable, educational, and/or scientific purposes and/or to lessen the burdens of government; to advance and promote the long term sustainability of non-timber products including, but not limited to, those used for edible and medicinal purposes; to engage in reasearch related to the foregoing; and to receive, administer, and distribute assets exclusively for the foregoing purposes. To conduct any and all such activities and exercise any and all such powers as are necessary for the achievement of the foregoing and in futherance of the purposes of the corporation.
Programs: To establish a certification program for foraged food goods such as wild leeks/ramps, fiddlehead ferns and other non-timber forest products.
develop a research partnership with the us forest service's southern research station in virginia to include michigan in a multi-state research project assessing the impact of various harvesting methods on the sustainability of ramps.
