Causes: Consumer Protection
Mission: To deliver quality services to meet the challenges of governance at all levels while enhancing public safety, economic development, and the general welfare of the community.
Programs: The organization successfully assisted federal, state, and local governments with building technology and public safety needs, especially in the areas of construction and affordable housing. Ibts has provided services in the following areas: * independent verification and validation of regulatory programs * building inspection * building design, peer review, and technical assistance * education and training * facilitation and coordination * business process re-engineering and it support. This lessened the burdens of federal, state, and local governments by providing ready access to information and services that reduce the cost of public safety, and by serving as an entity retained by each government agency, to execute functions necessary for each agency to fulfill its burdens.
