Causes: Crime & Law, Inmate Support
Mission: To transform the lives of those impacted by incarceration through programs designed to develop behavior inspired by insight, accountability and compassion.
Programs: Restorative justice: in fy 2011-2012, our restorative justice program consisted of direct services to prisoners in state and federal prisons, training of community volunteers, curriculum development, education and outreach to the public, and research/evaluation of the effectiveness of our work with prisoners. Additionally, we expanded our efforts to include a pilot program in alameda county jail. Our accomplishments included: providing 28 programs each week to inmates in california state and federal prisons, 12 trainings of community members in our transformative program techniques, presentations at more than 15 community functions, education of the community at large about restorative justice work, and collecting data to evaluate our programs.
