Ialf seeks to further the understanding of agricultural legal issues within the agricultural community, the three branches of government, legal community and the public at large through education, research and litigation.
Programs: The indiana agricultural law foundation, inc. Inaglaw supports litigation which has the potential to establish legal precedent and clarity on matters of concern to the agricultural community in indiana. Inaglaw seeks to further the understanding of agricultural legal issues within the agricultural community, and the judicial branch of government. This past year inaglaw supported cases involving indianas right to farm law, overreaching in the discovery process, public trust doctrine in indiana and general private property rights.
inaglaw supports educational programs that deal with legal issues facing farmers. Estate and succession planning impacts every farm in the state of indiana. Inaglaw recognizes the important role the foundation can play in educating farmers in this area. July 20, 2017 marked the fourth installment in an annual series developed by the inaglaw geared towards educating indiana farmers on estate and succession planning issues. Cle credit was offered to attending attorneys. Presenters highlighted the importance of communication among family members, the unique nature of family businesses, planned giving in an estate plan, resources available to indiana farmers as well as agricultural land value trends. Inaglaw co-sponsored indiana farm bureaus drainage school and the american agricultural law associations annual meeting in louisville, ky.
