Impact Equine goes above and beyond and I am pleasantly surprised when I look at their updates to see that they are always doing their best and often rescue horses where some rescues may overlook; point being, Impact RESCUES those who truly need it when other people or overlook them, don't think the horses are "good enough" or a lost cause. But not Impact Equine. They are truly dedicated to the horse's well being first, above politics, drama, how much $ they think they can get, or whatever the situation is. Here in Michigan, a straight forward rescue in our area was definitely needed. Impact filled that void and now that they are working with thoroughbred racers and owners, and have communications with Amish that there are alternatives to when they want to sell their work horses and buggy horses, Impact is there. Thank you!
Some years ago now, a friend forwarded a post to me about a woman who was trying to save a grey Percheron that reminded me of my own. I chipped in to help, the horse was saved, and found a wonderful new home. Brandy Frost, the woman who was working to save that lucky Perch, had not yet launched Impact Equine at that time, but she was already the boots on the ground, rescuing, rehabbing and rehoming drafts, off-track Thoroughbreds, and more. While I've seen a lot of horse rescues, and met a lot of rescuers, few operate with the kind of intelligent zeal that Impact Equine's Brandy Frost seems to muster. She is relentlessly devoted and hard working, but beyond that, the combination of integrity and passionate caring that she devotes to this rescue is phenomenal. Moreover, she has drawn together a community of helpers, doners, friends, adopters and more that are so vital to the survival of a nonprofit rescue. If anyone can make it work, she can. I look forward to the day when I can visit Impact Equine in person. Meanwhile, I'll keep cheering them on from afar.
I recently adopted Oakmont from Impact Equine. I had such a wonderful experience working with Impact Equine. Brandy is an amazing person and great to work with.
As a long time horse lover who is retired and not able to have a farm of my own, I always look for local non profits within my community that make a difference where i can donate when I can. I am a proud donor of Impact Equine because I trust what they do. They are grass roots and it can be hard for any organization to start out with limited awareness and funding, I have been to the farm and all the horses are happy and their approach to allow horses to adapt when they first come to the farm and they all get their own feeding regime.
Brandy is a wizard in re-feeding neglected and emaciated horses, she has a lot of year's experience doing this. A lot of care and consideration needs to be done in these cases where they horses are fed several meals a day so their systems adapt and bloodwork is pulled with the vet. Over the years of knowing Brandy and watching horses she had in her care prior to founding Impact Equine, I've seen the miracles that have been made with many horses, now Onyx is in her program at Impact Equine and in just a few months, he looks like a different horse. It is great to know that I have contributed to these feats and successes where other people might not have given these horses a chance and they now have that sparkle in their eye and the life they deserve.
Impact Equine is a local organization I've followed for some time as a volunteer to repair fences, stable help and as a master electrician helped them troubleshoot some electrical issues they had last year in the winter. I was happy to see how content all the horses are anytime I'm there. Everyone at Impact is dedicated to the horses and they've done so much their first year it's incredible to see what good they've done helping so many horses and making sure the horses they've adopted out are always taken care of. They are surely an organization that WILL continue to make a difference in our area.
We’ve adopted two horses from impact. The horse have clearly been amazingly and professionally cared for upon arrival at Impact. As a long time horse owner, it impressed me how much time, dollars, and effort is put into each arrival. And that care and concern has even carried over to us ( the adopters) as Impact follows up with us on any needs of the specific horse we adopted. Genuinely a fabulous experience working with them.
I found this wonderful organization by accident. What a lucky find for me. I am not in the position to own my own horse but this organization has my heart. Brandi and her team go above and beyond to help horses in need. I have gladly donated to their cause and I look forward to someday being able to visit in person.
We strive to take the best care of horses in our program, and find the best suited adopters for each horse
Friendly people, great horses, and staff were very knowledgeable. We were encouraged to come back any time
Impact Equine is great! It’s one of the most transparent and wonderful horse rescues in the state of Michigan that is needed so bad along with transporting horses in need from other states when needed. They truly put the horses needs in front of anything else when it comes to rescue and care. They provide top notch care to all the horses, that is what i like best about them. I’ve volunteered there for a long time and happy to see a rescue with the programs they offer both horses and human. As a volunteer I get to see a basic understanding of horse care, grooming, turnout, stall cleaning, clean buckets, along with assisting medical care when the vet, farriers and dentist are there. I’m impressed with what goes into evaluating the horse(s) and their thorough adoption process.
