Mission: Iascd's goal is to represent idaho's conservation districts as the primary entities to coordinate voluntary, locally lead efforts to sustain and enhance idaho's natural resources, and strengthen idaho's conservation districts and thereby the non-regulatory approach to conservation.
Programs: Tmdl program: staff are continuing to work and assist some 30 conservation districts developing tmdl implementation plans covering seven agreements. To date some 65 plans have been completed or approximately 80% of the total tmdl workload. Our field staff is strategically located throughout the state in order to meet the court ordered tmdl implementation schedule. Most of the tmdl staff funding support comes from the idaho soil conservation commission (iscc) a state agency.
envirothon: to promote natural resource education in a manner that succeeding generations will be environmentally literate, with the skills and knowledge to make informed decisions regarding the environment. It is designed to foster cooperation and teamwork, five-member teams are tested on their basic knowledge on the topics and ability to apply that knowledge to solve real-life problems.
