Causes: Community Coalitions
Mission: Hydrate Detroit provides love, empathy and compassion by helping people keep their access to clean running water. Water is an essential human right. Hydrate Detroit will not stop advocating and fighting for clean water until every home in Detroit is relieved by receiving water amnesty and pressure to lower water rates and drainage fees.
Results: Hydrate Detroit have been blessed to provide help to people in need. We have #sharewater fundraisers to help keep funds from the public and from viewers like you who want to see positive results in Detroit. Hydrate Detroit has maintained throughout the Covid-19 Pandemic by helping people get their water turned on after a moratorium executive order and help assist with plumbing repairs. We need your continuous help to ensure water stays flowing throughout the city of Detroit and to help residents whom cannot afford to pay because of circumstances or situations that have affected their ability to pay.
Target demographics: All Detroit Citizens, residents and homeowners such as senior citizens, disabled residents, veterans and families with small children
Direct beneficiaries per year: we have over 600 clients and helped various residents keep their water on by working with Detroit Water Dept to pay down water bills
Geographic areas served: water delivery, advocacy and consultation and water restoration service
Programs: Emergency water delivery consultation and advocacy restoration of water services if residents have been shutoff or disconnected. Hydrate Detroit offers assistance for people to have clean running water restored in their homes.
