I found myself and my children homeless after escaping an abusive relationship. I left everything behind but a bag full of clothes for each of us. We went to a shelter for women and children fleeing from domestic violence. Shelter stays are short term and I needed to start all over in a safe place. I was referred to Humanitri's Transitional Housing Program, where my children and I were provided a safe furnished four bedroom, 2 full baths and 1 half bath townhouse. I received guidance, referrals and resources to get my life back and make a brighter future for my children. After 24 months I saved enough money to pay off all past debt and even put a down payment on my own home. I went from feeling like a homeless, worthless, failure to a independent, successful, home owner!
Humanitri is a wonderful agency, which cares about the families they serve. I was not just a "client" I was treated like a human being who just needed some direction. I felt they truly cared about my family and our success.

Equipping families with critical skills that help them escape the cycle of poverty, gives them an opportunity for a more hope-filled future.
