These folks are wonderful! They definitely take the time with each animal that comes through and make sure the animals go to a loving home. I adopted my Barkley from this location and had such a great experience. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to bring home a furry friend.
Their dedicated staff is top of the line. They all take such good care of all the fur babies prior to adoption.
The Humane Society Pet Rescue and Adoption Center is full of wonderful people doing the best that they can for those who don't have a voice. If you are thinking of adopting, fostering, volunteering or just looking for a way to give back to your community, call them today to see what you can do! They are always looking for helping hands.
Such a rewarding place to volunteer. The environment is upbeat and loving as everyone there wishes to do good by the animals. The most enjoyable part for me has been bonding with specific animals and seeing them find forever homes.
Wonderful experience volunteering with this adoption center. Staff was very friendly and inviting. They are performing an invaluable public service. If you are at all interested in working with them I would highly recommend it.
Love the Humane society!!!The employees treat every animal with love and care! My volunteer experience was amazing.
There's something uniquely special about this place and its people, the animals they care for and save, and their commitment to ending the killing of pets in shelters. This is not just a nonprofit organization. it's a movement of incredible people, all who come together because of their shared belief that we can Save Them All.
What an honor to serve on this board. This group of people are some of the most selfless people I have ever met. They strive every day to save as many fur baby lives as they can. This organization is top notch. I have always been an animal lover but the Humane Society and Pet Rescue of Gadsden makes me love them even more. Thank you to all that do what you do.
We have given our hearts to seven pets we adopted from this organization and have fostered countless more. Their site claims to "engage hearts, hands and minds through compassionate education and community outreach" and promise to do it on a daily basis. Our family sees that every visit to the shelter, no matter the person greeting us. They care deeply for those in their care and try their best to save everything they can. Until our community does a better job increasing the number of owned pets that are spayed and neutered in our city and county, this and all other shelters will bear the burden of their calling. It is good to know they are there and better to know that they care. We can do better as a community, and it starts with spaying and neutering our pets.
I have had the pleasure of volunteering since post Katrina in 2005. Having always been a voice for the voiceless, it was a natural fit to work with this team. They have poured their hearts into their community by not only helping the homeless in their care but also helping the less fortunate families spay and neuter their pets. It is an honor to serve with them!
I've volunteered for this shelter since the 90s and have seen it continually grow better through efforts of the employees, managers and the volunteer Board. There have been improvements each year by reaching out to more rescue partners, more community leader support, by improving kennel care, funding for spay/neuter, etc. Please think of becoming a monthly donor to help support shelter efforts to re-home and provide medical care for all our Fur-babies seeking adoption. Every person makes a difference.
I volunteered at the Humane Society Pet Rescue & Adoption Center, I was a little skeptical at first because I've heard horror stories of "the pound" or "animal shelters" but from the first day I volunteered I fell in love! It is the complete opposite of what I expected. The people who work there are truly inspiring! They work tirelessly day in and day out for each and every furry thing that comes through the door to get a happy home. I am honored to be a part of such an amazing "tribe" as we call it!
I am what you call a "failed foster" as I volunteered initially as a foster if an older, large dog whose owner went into an assisted living facility. Since then I have continued to volunteer and have collected donations at roadblocks, helped at events and am now on the board. I have seen first hand the good that this Shelter does in the community and the county. When my black lab passed away, I went back to the Humane Society and adopted another dog. The employees are wonderful and when you see the dogs and cats you cant help but want to make sure they have forever homes where they are safe, fed and loved. Please consider adoption and consider The Humane Society Pet Rescue & Adoption Center before you ever purchase another animal. And, if you love and appreciate animals, please consider fostering a dog or cat, volunteering or doing whatever small part you can do to help the fur babies. I give the Humane Society the highest marks for going above and beyond every day of the week and making a huge difference and setting an example for the other shelters in the area for how to make a difference.
Our experience with The Humane Society Pet Rescue and Adoption Center has been one of the greatest experiences of our lives! This amazing group of people work incredibly hard each and every day to give these animals the best possible life!! They don't just want to adopt out pets for the sake of it. They actually take their time and learn about the "furbaby" and the potential "hooman" in order to make a perfect life for both. It would be easy to let these animals go just anywhere, it is much harder and more meaningful to have a perfect match. The happiness that that brings is second to none, and they do that every single day. They have changed mine and my husband's lives furever, and I cannot thank them enough!!!
