Mission: Alert neighbors are the most likely people to report this hidden crime, but they cannot unless they know the signs of human trafficking. We raise their awareness and empower them to be active observers, help train law enforcement and service providers in order to rescue victims and capture the traffickers.
Programs: Our prevention programs aimed at youth are worked in conjunction with existing community youth programs. We reached 241 children this year in 12 programs. They teach students about the dangers of human trafficking and equip them with information they can use to protect themselves. They are also empowered to educate others through their art and the confidence that information gives them. We have an additional youth program called tips and have expanded our programs for boys and younger children and their parents.
our point of contact, point of rescue program is aimed at businesses, hospitals and libraries. We work with the organizations to develop a reporting protocol to report situations. Employees and managers are trained to recognize the signs of trafficking in their customers and clients. We have already had a number of cases reported as a result of this program.
our outreach and training programs have been featured at national conferences and even two international conferences this year, including a un commission of the status of women parallel event. We have held train the trainer programs in 3 states for our programs and have organized coalitions in neighboring counties. Our executive director serves as the outreach and training director for the swfl regional human trafficking coalition.
