Mission: Humane animal care and community education
Programs: In 2017 pioneer humane society dba paws admitted 430 dogs and 714 cats to the shelter. Of those dogs, 286 were adopted, 99 were transferred to other no kill shelters, and 40 were returned to their owners. For cats, 473 were adopted out, 196 were transferred to other no kill shelters, and 22 were returned to their owners. In addition to helping stray or surrendered animals find homes, paws assisted with the spay and neuter of over 500 publicly owned animals and helped approximately 125 animals per week with our pet food assistance program for low income individuals.
