Mission: The Houston Zoo''s mission is to provide a fun, unique, and inspirational experience fostering appreciation, knowledge, and care for the natural world.
Programs: In addition, through our Naturally Wild Conservation Programs, the Zoo preserves biological diversity and seeks to ensure the survival of species and their natural habitats at home and abroad. The Zoo currently participates in over 25 projects in 10 different countries; including 10 “Lone Star State Wildlife Initiatives”. Whether rare, endangered, or even common, whether they reside in shrinking forests or vast untouched regions, our goal is to help sustain wild animal populations and preserve as much of our planet as possible while doing so.
