Mission: The Houston Aphasia Recovery Center (HARC) provides a wellness program, education, advocacy and resources for people with aphasia, their caregivers, and the greater Houston medical community, creating a safe haven where participants come for therapeutic socialization and long-term recovery.

Geographic areas served: Greater Houston area
Programs: Harc has over 18 different rotating programs that are offered as a whole to all participants. An example of programs offered are conversations, music, art expression, book club, writing workshop, exercise, computer, and aphasia community taskforce (act). Participants with aphasia will practice the use of communication strategies during various activities within a safe, supported environment. Group topics range from current events, both personal and social, to local and national news.
