Mission: Advocate and educate for greater housing availability and affordability.
Programs: One of the ways to carry out the home mission is to provide education regarding the housing situation in ventura county. For the past 13 years home has co-sponsored the ventura county housing conference inviting professionals in the areas of economics, housing, and government to share ideas with the ventura county community the impacts of housing issues on the health of the region. Governmental representatives, employers, development associated organizations and community stakeholders converge to understand the housing sector's relationship with residents and other sectors of the county.
home is the fiscal agent for the real estate advisory team (refat) to prevent, detect, and report real estate fraud. The refat team is a unique collaboration between the ventura county district attorney's real estate fraud unit and ventura county real estate professionals. The combined knowledge and expertise of these volunteer team members help identify the types of frauds taking place and keep on top of the ever changing tactics of scammers who seek to take advantage of ventura county residents.
