Mission: Housing initiatives of princeton provides affordable housing options to transition into permanent housing and sustained self-sufficiency to low income working families and individuals who are homeless or facing imminent homelessness in and around princeton, new jersey.
Programs: Housing initiatives of princeton strives to prevent homelessness for qualifying low-income working families and individuals in and around princeton, nj. During the july 2014 thru june 2015 fiscal year, housing initiatives of princeton provided transitional housing and rental assistance (back rent and security deposit) to seven families, including ten children enabling them to avoid homelessness or added disruption in their lives. Through the professional case manager that housing initiatives of princeton contracts, and in coordination with board liaisons, over 100 hours of individualized supportive services were provided to connect families and children to beneficial resources, including upgrade in employment, and support to enroll and complete a community college certificate program for parents, and enrichment opportunities for the growth and education of the children. Additionally, the board of trustees contribute time and talent to identify opportunities that will support a more secure future for these families, for example cost-share with other local affordable housing providers and supporters to offer a financial literacy workshop to housing initiatives of princeton client families, and others.
