Mission: Housing Conservation & Development Corporation was founded in 1981 by community organizers to help people obtain home ownership, and to rehabilitate existing housing stock and help people live more comfortably in older homes.
Programs: HC&DC administers Community Development Block Grant funds through CHRP/CERF loans to rehabilitate homes of target area low-income home owners and seniors city wide ($261,458). HC&DC built 38 first time homebuyers condos in San Francisco for low and moderate income programs, with additional funding provided by the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency and WFB ($1,867,480). Among HC&DCs recent accomplishments were completing construction of 38 first time homes, and purchasing another property for rental, home ownership, and senior development.
