Mission: Our mission is to honor life, offer care and comfort with dignity and ease the burdens of all patients, caregivers and families enduring the challenges of a serious and progressive illness. We provide the highest quality medical care, as well as support for our patients, their families and caregivers, regardless of age, race, creed, diagnosis, or ability to pay.
Programs: Hospice is our core program in which interdisciplinary teams of physicians, nurses, nurse assistants, social workers, clergy and volunteers provide individualized, holistic, quality end-of-life hospice care to terminally ill patients, most of who are cared for in their own homes. We also operate two inpatient care centers for patients who require acute, short-term skilled care, such as pain control, symptom management, assessment and intervention. Our hospice program also addresses the psychosocial and spiritual needs of the terminally ill patient's family members and caregivers. As part of this program, psychosocial and spiritual counselors offer preparation for death assistance as well as bereavement services for the family members of our patients for 13 months after the death of a loved one. During the twelve month period ended december 31, 2017, hbts admitted and served 3,486 patients. The organization also provided approximately $1,118,000 of charity care during 2017.
