In July 2018 I went on my 1st mission trip to the Navajo Nation with the Hope for the Children foundation and it was a truly beautiful week where I saw Gods love and light through all the children and families. I saw Gods love pouring into the hearts of all the children at the Bible camp. Their laughter and smiles beaming in their faces from playing tag to singing and dancing and to just conversations throughout the day made me see Gods Love. And I saw Gods light through all the families and children by welcoming us so kindly into the place they call home. This mission trip filled me with a sense of peace and the presence of God that I will be thankful for throughout my whole life. The Navajo Nation and all the families and children will always have a very special place in my heart and I will forever remember the impact that this experience gave me❤️
Being a part of a mission trip to the Navajo Nation with the Hope for the Children Foundation is something I will look back on as being one of the most impactful experiences of my life. The people instantly drew me into their families and showed me genuine love and appreciation for everything we did. Though they expressed it in few words, I could feel their gratitude through conversation and their desire to just be listened to and it was an honor for me just to sit in their presence, and be there for them every step of the way. Running the bible school was this like this crazy amazing roller coaster ride that brought you higher and higher into the clouds every day, and I could feel the lord lending his grace to every part of it. Seeing the genuine happiness and light in the children’s eyes when we played with them, listened to their music, or just talked with them brought me fulfillment far beyond what I imagined. I left the Navajo Nation with a heart completely filled with the Holy Spirit. Being able to represent the Hope for the Children Foundation on this beautiful mission trip brought me such a sense of purpose and gratitude, that I finally reached my untapped potential to serve as an extension of Christ as I never have before and will continue to do in the future.
