I have been donating to Hope for Humanity (linked to a school in Southern Sudan) for several years. The founder started the organization to give educational opportunities to young people in Sudan, during a very difficult time in that country. I have seen reports of students who have benefited from the education and have gone on to make meaningful contributions in their country. This is NOT a flashy, high profile organization-- often appeals are to "fix the truck" and the needs are very fundamental and "day to day." From what I've seen, the level of commitment of the principals and teachers at the school is outstanding.
