Mission: To prevent homelessness by matching "providers", residents who need to share their homes or apartments in order to maintain them, with "seekers", individuals searching for affordable housing in the community. These matches foster independence with dignity.
Programs: Homesharing is a service to people who want or need to share their homes for economic, service or companionship reasons, or who need help in finding affordable housing. Homesharing's goal is to match home providers with home seekers in a such a way that the need of both are met. Homesharing's service area is somerset county, hunterdon county, middlesex county, middlesex borough, morris county, and union county. Providers must live in a separate bedroom from a seeker. Seekers may already live in the service area or be willing to move to the service area. Providers and seekers must be independent enough to meet their own basic needs. In a service arrangement, reduced rent or rent free may be exchanged for help with household chores or services.
