Hire America's Heroes started off a non-profit that seemed worth my while. They held events on base for free to employers to help them understand what our service men and women do (similar to Boss Lifts hosted by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR)). The first year they were up and running was great. After that, they started charging employers upwards towards $750-1000+ to attend hiring events. From the reviews I received from other employers, of maybe 300 veteran job seekers, only 2-5 would end up with employment.
There are a lot of phenomenal organizations out there that do not charge the employer because they do not want to create barriers for either the (former) service member or the employer to find that "right match" and truly gainful employment.
