Mission: Higher education consortium of central massachusetts (heccma) serves as a mechanism through which members and partner insitutions share resources and cooperate for the benefit of current and potential students, faculty, staff, and the greater community.
Programs: Promoting worcester and the region as a college town and knowledge-based economy - planned events with local government officials and businesses highlighting how the colleges are involved in contributing to the local economy. Informed community about areas where institutions are interested in finding opportunities for future collaboration. Services include:cross registration - working with campus registrars and campus database managers to develop a process by which students can search for courses through one central website, with daily automated uploads from each campus. Cost effectiveness - working with cfo's and purchasing directors to develope cost effectiveness measures inlcuding four shared contracts, polybags, paper supplies, office supplies and toner and office furniture
