As a kid in the 1980s, I spent hours and hours in the Heritage Public Library (then the "McDonald Free Library"). I was blessed to live less than a block away. The library's books made it possible for me to travel back in time and to distant lands. The library's books introduced me to new ideas and different perspectives.
I especially loved the library's Summer Reading Club! I loved the challenge of being the young person who read the most books!
The Heritage Public Library made me a stronger reader, a better writer and a more critical thinker. Wherever I go, and whatever I do, in life is due in no small part to my hometown's wonderful library.
May it be there forever!!
