Mission: The hegert foundation's primary exempt purpose is to provide assistance to agencies involved in child welfare and social services.
Programs: This was the fifth and final year of existence for the organization. During the year, donated land and buildings were sold to help provide funding for grants. $393,540 was donated to organizations that support our mission. St. Aemilian-lakeside will use the grant of 5,000 to provide supportive permanent housing and youth transitioning to adulthood scholars. The organization addresses the gap in services for youth aging out of foster care. John marshall high school will use the grant of 20,000 to enhance the lives of children with disabilities. It will be used for camp side by side which is a three-night, four-day camp trip for students in special education from six high schools in the milwaukee public school system. Lad lake which serves at risk children will use the grant of 5,000 for the second year of funding the skills tutor program. Children's service society will use the grant of 15,000 to benefit children in the bureau's care through gift cards for food and supplies, bus tickets, strollers, school uniforms, etc. The women's center will use the grant of 32,000 to provide safety, shelter, and support to women and their families, and to facilitate their development. The greater milwaukee foundation will use the grant of 316,540 to meet the emergency needs of fosterr children in the public child welfare system in southeastern wisconsin who are under the supervision of governmental agencies.
