Causes: Hospices, Human Services
Mission: Hemet hospice volunteers, a community based, non profit volunteer organization, provides resources for special needs of hospice patients, families and the bereaved, with love and compassion during end of life care.
Programs: Bereavement program we have served over 117 adults in adult bereavement classes in our community. We have served 3 high schools, 4 jr. High schools and 6 elementary schools in our youth bereavement group classes, a total of 49 students in hemet in 2008. Approximately 72 women participated in at least one grief and loss group support meeting at lavista during 2009. Held a "happy hearts kids camp" for kids who lost love ones and during 2009 there were 15 kids attending.

volunteer programwe have trained volunteers to help in the varied areas of hospice support with an increase of 45 additional volunteers. The actual number of volunteer hours contributed increase in excess of 5000 hours. Many of the hours were crafters who meet together to make things for the "boutiques" and "bazaar's" held as fund raisers.
