I volunteered for one month and a half ( June to July 2019) at the help without frontiers organization working in the Rays of Youth project.
This experience has been something who taught me a lot, about the world around me and about myself.
I was in a period of my life where I didn’t really know yet what studies I wanted to do, and it allowed me to take a step back on all that.
I also met some incredible peoples, who welcomed me with open arms. I was able to discover a new culture, other than my own, while creating unforgettable relationships with people who were all more kind and generous than each other.
Since I did not have any special skill to teach them, I hope I still gave them happiness.
However, they gave me a lot, by allowing me to improve my english and discover a new way of living.
Thanks to that experience, I was able to think of what kind of person I wanted to become.
I could never thank you enough for everything that you gave me.
See you soon I hope.
I volunteered for three weeks at the Help without Frontiers organization working in the ‘Rays of Youth’ project. I worked together with the youth to prepare a dance performance for the national youth day. This was an experience I will always look back to. I had such a great time!
When I first heard about Help without Frontiers I didn’t really know what to expect.
How exactly does such an organization work?
But when I went there myself, I can only confirm how good of a choice it was for me and how much I learned myself during the work with the youth and to see the world outside our comfort zone. This experience helped me grow personally by experiencing the daily life present in Mae Sot.
I went there because a friend recommended it and I can just do the same. I learned a lot in that time and I’m really glad I went there.
I volunteered for Help Without Frontiers Thailand Foundation (HWF) for three weeks. In this time i made the experience that the Employees work intense and very comitted to reach their aims and to help the refugees. It was very impressive to see how much they do, how they help, how thankful people are. I'm going to volunteer this year again. I can definitely
recommend this organization.
My unforgettable time as a volunteer teacher at help without frontiers :
Never having worked as a computer teacher before, this was a new but very rich experience for me. The students were so nice and very eager to learn new things. It was a real pleasure to work with them. The local teachers were as lovely as the children and the initial nervous feelings were completely forgotten after day one!
The kids were adorable and I left school feeling a great sense of achievement each and every day. Would I do it all over again? In a heartbeat.
On July I visited the organization! I went there because I have a personal interest in migrant children in Mae Sot. Because of their somewhat special identity as migrant children, I have thought that the world should be interested in their lives and especiall education. Help Without Frontier is one the of organization which supports many of migrant learning centers and that is why I visited the office. All the staff were so kind and warm. It was really great experience to visit the office and got a chance to talk with the members!
I have known the organization Help without Frontiers for many years and I can vouch for the dedication, spirit and enthusiasm all staff put towards the overall goal, namely providing a better future for Burmese migrant children. That said, the organization is trust-worthy, transparent and reliable regarding all actions.
I am and will continue to support this great cause!
